The Session
You are warmly invited to join me for an hour in a calm, loving, kind, uplifting, peaceful space, where you can relax and recharge your batteries.
For the first half of this 60-minute session, you will have your eyes open as we practice various relaxation techniques together. In the second half, you will be invited to close your eyes and relax.
To enjoy the session fully, please make sure you will not be disturbed for one hour, and you will need to be in a comfortable seated or propped-up position so that your body is fully supported. You may want to avoid lying down if you suspect you might fall asleep as you will be in a deep, guided meditation for at least 20 minutes during the last half of the session.
Please do not drive or operate machinery during the guided meditation, and please use your own knowledge about your body or any medical conditions that may prevent you from sitting still or being deeply relaxed.
It is nice to have a drink of water with you, and a blanket to cover your legs.
Everyone is welcome as no prior experience is required.

Why Relaxation and Meditation?

Hello, and a very warm welcome to you!
I would dearly love to spend some time with you helping you experience peace and calm in your everyday busy life. I know from personal experience how important it is to relax on a regular basis in order to gain freedom from an overly-busy mind and anxious thoughts.
As a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), I practice relaxation techniques because my senses are easily overwhelmed, and it can come on quite suddenly. The way I experience life as an HSP is much louder, busier, and brighter than most, plus I feel things very deeply, so learning how to relax and meditate helps to reset my nervous system and come back to a place of peace and calm.
Relaxation & Meditation
In the beginning, I found meditating very uncomfortable because my thoughts would run all over the place, reminding me of all the things I needed to do instead of sitting still.
Sometimes, the only way I could relax was to write my thoughts down to get them out of my head, so I regularly meditated with a pen and paper on my lap. As for my body though, it would ache, itch, twitch, sneeze, cough, go numb, need a pee, and generally be really fidgety!
It was difficult to sit still and I felt foolish, I mean, all I had to do was do nothing for 20 minutes – simple right?
Treat yourself with the same gentleness you would treat a small puppy
Luckily the turning point came when somebody suggested that I treat myself like a small puppy who was learning how to sit and stay. They said that every time the puppy wanders off – which it will – is to gently bring it back to the same spot and start again. I could not punish a young puppy for its lack of concentration, so I decided to show the same tenderness and compassion to my own ‘puppy mind’.
It made a huge difference when I was kinder, loving, and more patient with myself, because in time, meditation became a whole lot easier and far more enjoyable. I am so grateful for that advice, and I am even more grateful that I kept practicing without giving up.
Today, meditation is an essential part of my life and an amazing self-healing tool.
